Private Session with a Pro Coach & The Japanese Way
The next chapter began with an incredible privilege: a private training session at the Olympic Center with Coach Shohei from the Tokyo Great Bears!
Learning directly from an SV League coach was a phenomenal experience, allowing the boys to dive deep into high-level Japanese volleyball techniques. But the learning didn't stop when the whistle blew. To show their deep appreciation and respect, the boys wrapped up the day by thoroughly cleaning the gym. From technical precision to leaving the court spotless, they embraced the "Japanese Way" through and through!
Shibuya Vibes to Thrilling New Heights, Mishima Skywalk
After practice, it was time for some classic Tokyo exploration as we headed into Shibuya to experience the energy of the world-famous Shibuya Crossing. From there, we hopped on the train and headed toward Mishima, home to the breathtaking Mishima Skywalk. Stretching an impressive 400 meters, this famous pedestrian suspension bridge offers stunning 70-meter-high panoramic views.
While the cloudy weather hid Mount Fuji from view, the boys still had a wonderful time taking in the massive scale of the bridge and the surrounding scenery. Seeing them all together here really brings the heart of our mission to life. Boys from Chicago, Maryland, and San Francisco have all come together right here in Japan. They may come from different places, but they share the exact same passion. Sports truly "Tsunagu" connect people, and it’s beautiful to see how volleyball has brought these boys together as one.
As a fun bonus, they also got to experience the popular Long Zipline, enjoying a thrilling 560-meter round-trip ride through the air before wrapping up their visit.
Training with Toray Arrows Shizuoka
After their time at the Skywalk, it was back to business on the volleyball court. That evening, the boys proudly put their uniforms on for a highly competitive and productive practice session with the Toray Arrows Shizuoka. It was another amazing opportunity to test their growing skills against elite local talent.
Heading West to Osaka!
With packed days of top-tier volleyball and unforgettable sightseeing behind us in the Tokyo and Shizuoka areas, we are officially packing our bags. Next stop: Osaka!
