TSUNAGU 3 is Finally Underway! Intense Training in Tokyo

The TSUNAGU 3 boys have officially kicked off their journey in Japan, and it has already been a packed couple of days!
Rigorous Training with Top-Tier Teams
Started things off with an absolutely top-notch training session at Sundai Gakuen High School, one of the top high school powerhouses in Japan. The defensive drills were intense, and by the end, the boys’ legs were completely spent. But they kept pushing each other, shouting through the fatigue, and managed to power through until the very last drill. It was an incredible test of their spirit, and they survived it with big smiles!
The boys continued their high-level training with a joint practice with the Tokyo Great Bears youth team, which is the academy of a top professional club competing in Japan’s premier SV League. During this session, the boys saw firsthand just how elite the local players' ball control is, which really drove home the importance of precision. They focused deeply on perfecting their serve receive, taking away valuable technical adjustments from the academy players. This gave them a fantastic opportunity to adapt to a pro-level academy style.
The next challenge continued as they headed over to Nippon Sport Science University (NSSU) for another intense session on the court. It’s been a demanding, fast-paced schedule, but they are taking away so much from these elite environments. You can truly see how alive and energized they are during every drill.
Sightseeing, Yakiniku, and Powering Up
Of course, it hasn't been all volleyball. In between their intense practices, the boys have been making the most of their time in Tokyo. They took a quick break to do some sightseeing and visited the iconic Tokyo Skytree to take in the city views. To reward all their hard work and refuel their bodies, we wrapped up these big days with a proper Japanese BBQ (Yakiniku) dinner!
