Tsunagu 2: Japan Expedition Report - Tokyo Edition

The moment we have all been waiting for has finally arrived. All the girls have safely arrived in Japan! Amidst a mix of anticipation and nerves, Tsunagu 2 has officially begun!!!

Training with the Legendary "Beavers"

The first group to land in Japan headed to practice with Beavers, a prestigious team with whom we share a deep and long-standing bond. As a national championship-winning powerhouse, their training was nothing short of inspiring.

The girls were mesmerized by the team's "flexibility" and relentless spirit - a defensive style that allows them to keep the ball alive and connect from any position, no matter how difficult. Watching the Beavers move with such precision and flow was a powerful lesson.

It was a precious opportunity for our girls to witness firsthand that elite-level play is built upon a foundation of discipline. They felt the vital importance of mastering the basics as the first step toward greatness.

Exploring Tokyo: From Harajuku to Meiji Jingu.

Once the entire team was together, they enjoyed some well-deserved girls’ time out. After enjoying some shopping in Harajuku, which is overflowing with youthful energy, they visited the adjacent Meiji Jingu Shrine. Everything they saw was new to them, and their radiant smiles and excitement brought joy to all of us as well.

Witnessing the Peak: The Power of Professional Volleyball

In the afternoon, the team had the incredible opportunity to watch a top-tier professional match in the SV League, featuring NEC Red Rockets Kawasaki vs. Victorina Himeji.

The atmosphere in the arena was electric, and the girls were immediately captivated by the sheer speed and precision of the game. Every rally showcased outstanding defense and a level of tactical detail that is unique to Japanese volleyball. They saw firsthand how the pros "create time" by slowing down the pace through strategic sets, allowing hitters to find the perfect opening.

Scrimmaging Against 9 Elite High School Teams.

After being completely overwhelmed by the incredible power and refined skills of the pros playing right before their eyes, the girls felt a surge of inspiration. It was finally time for them to take all that energy and step onto the court themselves, ready to put those lessons into practice.

The challenge that awaited them was intense: scrimmaging against nine different elite high school teams.

Over the course of five grueling hours, they faced off against high-level programs including Seibo, Tokyo Seitoku, Bunkyo, Kyoei, Shutoku, Yokohama Shodai, and Jissen Gakuen.

The atmosphere in the gym was thick with focus as the girls exchanged

respectful bows with their Japanese

counterparts before diving into the action.

Competing against high-level players of their own generation - who displayed incredible discipline and tactical precision - was a true test of their limits.

This day of relentless competition will surely be an irreplaceable asset for them, providing lessons in teamwork and perseverance that they will carry long after the expedition.

Heading to the Volleyball Hub: Osaka

After completing their intense training and matches in Tokyo, the group headed to their next destination: Osaka, a city bustling with volleyball passion and home to many powerhouse teams.

The challenge for the girls and their spirit continues.
