Our K2 High School Boys are Working so Hard!

From those on the Freshman team to JV and Varsity - while I haven’t been able to see every single team yet, I’ve been stopping by whenever I can to cheer them on from the sidelines.

K2 High School Boys

I believe that what matters most isn't just how much you play or how many points you score, but rather what you can do for the team. Being a pillar of support for your teammates - even your attitude and gestures while on the bench—is incredibly important to me. I know that can be one of the hardest roles to play, but I believe it makes a world of difference in the kind of person you become as an adult.

The other day, I went to see the match between Schaumburg High School and Conant High School. One of our 18-year-old K2 members was there on the bench. This is his final season. Even when things felt unfair, and even though he didn't get into the game that day, he stood up every single time a teammate returned to the bench to give them a high-five and a word of encouragement.

When I praised him for it after the game, he humbly deflected, saying, "Oh no, it’s not me," and pointed instead to the achievements of his teammates.

That kind of humility and character is so vital. I truly felt that an athlete like him will be successful no matter where he goes after graduation.

Keep up the great work for the rest of the high school season!
